Stainless-steel HNS miniature deep-groove ball bearings (ball bearings with a bore diameter < 10 mm are classified as “miniature bearings”) are used in a variety of applications where there is a risk of corrosion.

The rings, rolling elements, cages, and cover plates are made of HNS (High Nitrogen Steel), a high-performance stainless steel that offers significantly higher corrosion resistance than conventional corrosion-resistant SUS440C steel. Innovative heat treatment technology and the addition of extra chemical elements enable use in alkaline, saline, and humid environments.
Abrasive and non-abrasive seals are made of sheet steel-reinforced NBR.

Double-row thin-section angular contact ball bearings of the 30/… and 38/… series are characterized in particular by their small cross-sections and low weight, which makes it possible to use these bearing variants to create weight-saving and space-optimized designs.

Their design corresponds to that of two single-row angular contact ball bearings in an O-configuration, but they require less axial space than those bearings.
Double-row thin-section angular contact ball bearings accommodate both radial and axial forces from both directions as well as tilting moments and provide a relatively rigid bearing arrangement.

In addition, our bearings are also available in corrosion-resistant versions.

Thin-section angular contact ball bearings of the 718… and 719… series are characterized in particular by their small cross-sections and low weight, which allow these bearing variants to be used in weight-saving and space-optimized designs.

Angular contact ball bearings are single-row bearings with a pronounced contact angle that can support not only radial forces but also axial loads in one direction.
A radial load always generates an axial force component that must be supported by a mating bearing.
The bearing clearance in single-row angular contact ball bearings is determined only upon installation and depends on the alignment relative to the mating bearing.
Instead of a single bearing arrangement, paired bearing assemblies in O or X configurations with application-specific preload are also available.

O-arrangement (DB suffix):

An O-configuration allows for a large support span and thus provides a highly rigid bearing arrangement. To achieve the factory-set preload, the inner rings must be firmly clamped together on the shaft.

X-arrangement (suffix DF):

An X-arrangement allows for a small support distance and thus a less rigid mounting. To a limited extent, this can compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing. To achieve the factory-set values, the outer rings must be firmly clamped against each other within the housing.

Dynamic load capacity of a bearing assembly:

Cges = i0.7 × C (single bearing), where i = number of bearings

Static load capacity of a bearing assembly:

C0ges = 2 × C0 single bearing

Limit speed of a bearing group:

nGges = 0.85 × nGE single bearing

Thin-section angular contact ball bearings of the DRZ…A… series in inch sizes are characterized in particular by their small cross-sections and low weight, which make it possible to create weight-saving and space-optimized designs using these bearing variants.

Angular contact ball bearings are single-row bearings with a pronounced contact angle that can accommodate not only radial forces but also axial loads in one direction.
When subjected to a radial load, an axial force component is always generated, which must be supported by a mating bearing.

Instead of single bearings, paired bearings are also available in O, X, or tandem configurations. In this case, the bearing rings are ground so that a slight axial preload is applied to the bearing under rated conditions.

In addition, our bearings are also available in a corrosion-resistant version.

WAL 6… series deep-groove ball bearings are used to compensate for differences in thermal expansion between the bearing and the housing.

This bearing variant has the same dimensional limits as standard radial deep-groove ball bearings, with the exception that a high-polymer material (PA) with a high coefficient of thermal expansion is incorporated along the outer circumference of the outer ring.

A good fit is achieved between the mating surfaces of the polyamide rings and the housing, ensuring consistent performance over a wide temperature range; at elevated temperatures, this prevents the outer ring from shifting or rotating within the housing due to circumferential load.

Thermal compensation bearings absorb both radial and axial forces in both directions and are versatile due to their low-friction, low-noise, and low-vibration operation.

Miniature angular contact ball bearings are single-row bearings with a pronounced contact angle that can accommodate not only radial forces but also axial loads in one direction.
A radial load always generates an axial force component that must be supported by a mating bearing.
The bearing clearance in single-row angular contact ball bearings is determined only upon installation and depends on the alignment with the mating bearing.

Instead of single bearings, paired bearings in O or X configurations with application-specific preload are also available.

O-arrangement (DB suffix):

An O-configuration allows for a large support distance and thus provides a highly rigid bearing arrangement. To achieve the factory-set preload, the inner rings must be tightly clamped against each other on the shaft.

X-arrangement (suffix DF):

An X-arrangement allows for a small support spacing and thus a less rigid mounting. To a limited extent, this can compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing. To achieve the factory-set values, the outer rings must be firmly clamped against each other within the housing.

The increasing miniaturization across a wide range of applications, coupled with rising demands on load-carrying capacity, precision, reliability, and service life, calls for a wide variety of possible bearing configurations.

Our miniature angular contact ball bearings can handle higher axial and/or radial loads than conventional miniature deep-groove ball bearings. In addition to their high precision, this bearing variant is characterized by its low deflection and high axial stiffness.

Dynamic load capacity of a bearing assembly:

Cges = i0.7 × C (single bearing), where i = number of bearings

Static load capacity of a bearing assembly:

C0ges = 2 × C0 (single bearing)

Limit speed of a bearing group:

nGges = 0.85 × nGE (single bearing)

In addition, our bearings are also available in corrosion-resistant versions. You can find the corresponding product selection in the “Stainless Steel Roller Bearings” section.

In addition to the bearing models listed here, SBN offers custom solutions tailored to your needs.

Stainless steel angular contact ball bearings of the 72…VA series are used in a variety of applications where there is a risk of corrosion.

Stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion, is used for the rings and rolling elements. The sliding seals are made of sheet steel-reinforced NBR, and the cages are made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic.

Angular contact ball bearings are single-row bearings with a pronounced contact angle that can accommodate not only radial forces but also axial loads in one direction.

A radial load always results in an axial force component, which must be supported by a mating bearing.
The bearing clearance in single-row angular contact ball bearings is determined by the installation and depends on the angle relative to the mating bearing.

Instead of single bearings, paired bearings in O or X configurations with application-specific preload are also available.

O-arrangement (DB suffix):

An O-configuration allows for a large support distance and thus provides a bearing arrangement with high rigidity. To achieve the factory-set preload, the inner rings must be firmly clamped against each other on the shaft.

Cges = i0.7 × C(single bearing), where i = number of bearings

Static load capacity of a bearing assembly:

C0ges = 2 × C0 single bearing

Limit speed of a bearing group:

nGges = 0.85 × nG (single bearing)

In addition, our bearings are also available in chrome steel versions.

Miniature axial deep-groove ball bearings consist of a shaft ring, a housing ring, and a set of balls held in place by a sheet-steel cage.
In bearing variants with the suffix “M,” both the shaft ring and the housing ring are equipped with a raceway. Versions without the suffix “M,” on the other hand, are manufactured without a raceway.

Miniature axial deep-groove ball bearings can accommodate high axial forces in one direction; however, radial loads and angular misalignment between the housing and the shaft are not permitted.

This design is a self-retaining bearing variant, which offers the advantage that the ball ring, shaft washer, and housing washer can be assembled separately.

In addition, our bearings are also available in corrosion-resistant versions.

Single-row miniature rollers of the LR 6… series are designed like single-row deep-groove ball bearings, but feature a reinforced, crowned outer ring and can accommodate both radial and axial forces from both directions.
Furthermore, this bearing design can help minimize the risk of edge stresses that may arise from misalignment.

For normal use of the bearing as a roller (running on a flat surface or a cam), the load ratings Crw or C0rw should be used. These ratings were determined by taking into account the bending stress on the outer ring that occurs under load and the resulting change in load distribution within the bearing due to elastic deformation.

In addition, our bearings are also available in corrosion-resistant versions.

Double-row miniature roller bearings of the LR 6… series are designed similarly to double-row ball bearings, but feature a reinforced, spherical outer ring and can accommodate both radial and axial forces from both directions.

Double-row self-aligning ball bearings are self-aligning rolling bearings that reliably compensate for angular misalignment between the shaft and the housing. Due to their design, they are particularly suitable for applications involving misalignment, shaft deflection, or installation inaccuracies, and ensure smooth, low-vibration operation.

The bearings comply with the tolerances specified in DIN 620 and the main dimensions specified in DIN 630, Sheet 1. They feature two raceway grooves on the inner ring and a hollow-spherical outer ring raceway, which provides high angular adjustability and uniform load distribution.

The inner and outer rings are made of case-hardened, high-purity rolling-bearing steel, which ensures high load-carrying capacity and a long service life. High-precision raceways optimize friction and noise characteristics even under demanding operating conditions.

Precision balls made of high-quality rolling bearing steel are used as rolling elements; ceramic balls are also available as an option for electrically insulated hybrid bearings. Depending on the application, open designs as well as versions with a sliding seal (2RS or LLU/LLUX) are available.

Depending on the requirements, the cage is manufactured from steel or glass-fiber-reinforced plastic. This allows the rotational speed, temperature resistance, and operating characteristics to be optimally adapted to the specific application.

Double-row self-aligning ball bearings are available in greased or oiled versions. For special applications, a wide selection of lubricants and customized lubrication concepts are available.

Advantages

  • Compensation for Alignment Errors and Angular Deviations
  • Smooth, low-vibration operation even under load
  • High load capacity and long service life
  • Precise raceways for optimized friction and noise performance
  • Various seal and cage designs are available
  • Optionally available as a hybrid bearing (electrically insulated)
  • Available greased or oiled
  • Custom solutions are available (e.g., coatings, special dimensions, carbonitriding)

In addition, these bearings are also available in a corrosion-resistant version.

Stainless steel, which is highly resistant to corrosion, is used for the rings, rolling elements, cages, adapter rings, and threaded pins. The seals are made of sheet steel-reinforced NBR.

In this bearing design, the inner ring is secured to the shaft by two set screws offset by 120°, and relubrication can be performed through the lubrication bore in the outer ring. It can accommodate both radial and axial forces from both directions, and thanks to the flared inner ring, tilting is minimized, thereby ensuring smoother operation.

Furthermore, the spherical outer ring surface, when installed in a hollow spherical housing bore, allows for the compensation of misalignment errors caused by installation.
